how will we use the report?

We launched the draft version of our ‘green New Deal’ in late April and called for people to contribute their ideas and suggestions. This received a wonderful response and the final paper has grown to almost three times the length of the original.

We think it has turned into a very useful vision of how Victoria could act to put ourselves on a sustainable footing for coming decades.

We will send the final version to all politicians in Victoria and a cross section of other opinion makers in the media, business and civil society. We will also use the report where appropriate in our other campaigning.

We also received substantial feedback requesting some open ended process attached to collaboration around the ‘triple crunch’. Therefore, we will keep this blog site going for the foreseeable future. Please feel free to post ideas on the general themes of climate change, economic recession and peak oil.

Suggesting a multi-approach linked to your final discussion paper, to reach more people:

    1. The ‘compelling document that will argue for the need for a profound and deeply thoughtful response to the challenges we face – individually and collectively.’

    2. The deeply thoughtful and practical responses in compact form.
    3. A racy one-page summary directed to everybody aged twelve and over. (MPs can read this, anyway.)

    4. A series of ten racy one-liners to help get the messages heard and understood. Plus many more one-liners as they are thought of.

    5. All printouts can be illustrated with cartoons & pics.

(I would like an esy-speling version to spred the net wider – but alredy literat pepl may shrink from reducing our social opressions by making literacy mor posibl.)
